GoodMood Holdings Secures $45 Million for AI-driven Mental Health Expansion
GoodMood Holdings has raised nearly $45 million to enhance its AI-focused mental health platform and expand internationally.
GoodMood Holdings has successfully secured nearly $45 million (approximately RMB 300 million) to further develop and scale its AI-driven mental healthcare platform, specialty clinic network, and its operations on the international front.
Enhancing Mental Health Services
The recent funding will significantly bolster the company’s endeavors in AI research and development, broaden its psychiatric and mental health offerings, and enable the establishment of additional physical clinics. Importantly, this investment will facilitate growth beyond China’s borders.
A Comprehensive Care Model
Unlike many providers focusing solely on consumer counseling, GoodMood has established a robust platform centered around specialized mental health care. Since its inception in 2016, the company has integrated virtual care, advanced AI technology, specialty clinical services, workplace mental health initiatives, and an extensive network of professional clinicians.
Today, GoodMood boasts over 14 million registered users and more than 134,000 clinicians, encompassing psychiatrists, counselors, and various mental health specialists.
AI-Powered Solutions
AI is at the heart of GoodMood’s operations, playing a crucial role in screening, assessment, patient engagement, and clinical support. These technologies are designed not to supplant healthcare professionals but to enhance their ability to reach and serve more patients.
Additionally, GoodMood is transforming traditional employee assistance programs by integrating AI-based assessments, risk stratification, and clinical services along with digital engagement strategies.
Previous Funding and Future Directions
This funding marks GoodMood's seventh financing round, building on previous support that included a $31 million Series C led by ByteDance in 2021, as well as contributions from Nhwa Pharmaceutical and other institutional investors.
As part of its growth strategy, GoodMood is placing increased emphasis on international partnerships, exploring opportunities in various Asian markets, including Japan and Malaysia, and eyeing expansion into Europe and the United States in the long term.
Building a Global Mental Health System
The recent financing will empower GoodMood to develop the necessary infrastructure to support its international ambitions while enhancing clinical quality and technology investments. The company's overarching goal is to create a comprehensive mental health ecosystem where AI, digital health technologies, and specialized clinical care synergize to make high-quality mental health services accessible to a broader audience, regardless of geographic and workforce limitations.
“Mental health is a global need. Over the past decade, we built and proved our care delivery system and business model in China. Over the next decade, we aim to bring together AI, digital health and specialist mental health care so that high-quality mental health services are no longer limited by geography or the availability of clinical resources.” — Chen Guanwei, Chairman and CEO of GoodMood Holdings
