Hilton Launches High Performance Meetings with Wellness Focus
Hilton's new High Performance Meetings framework emphasizes attendee wellness for more engaging events.
Hilton has unveiled an innovative approach to meetings and events known as High Performance Meetings, developed in collaboration with TIGNUM, a consulting firm specializing in sustainable human performance. This unique framework prioritizes wellness, aiming to help attendees feel reinvigorated, engaged, and prepared to apply their insights.
The Need for Meaningful Engagement
Recent research conducted by Hilton indicates that a staggering 67% of attendees report feeling less engaged when events fail to provide adequate downtime. This insight underscores the growing demand for wellness-centric principles in the meeting industry, linking the success of gatherings to the wellbeing of attendees.
High Performance Meetings builds on Hilton’s existing initiative called the World’s Most Welcoming Events. By integrating findings from key reports such as The Meetings Maximizer and Why We Gather, the framework helps event planners develop inclusive and meaningful experiences for participants.
Enhancing the Attendee Journey
The High Performance Meetings framework is designed around three crucial stages that enhance the overall attendee experience:
- Arrive Ready: This phase includes pre-event resources, like travel guidance and 'Know Before You Go' communications, ensuring attendees are equipped and ready to engage upon arrival.
- Stay Ready: Attendees benefit from thoughtfully crafted agendas that intertwine productive sessions with wellness experiences, fostering sustained energy and focus throughout the event.
- Return Ready: Post-event resources provide attendees with tools to reflect, enabling them to maintain the benefits of the experience well beyond the meeting.
Core Wellness Elements
At the heart of the High Performance Meetings framework are four pillars designed to seamlessly integrate wellness into the meeting experience:
- Mindset: Activities that promote mental clarity and focus, including guided meditation and reflective practices.
- Nutrition: Smartly crafted food and beverage options intended to sustain energy and enhance cognitive function, emphasizing balanced meals and proper hydration.
- Movement: Incorporating physical activities throughout the agenda—from stretch breaks to fitness classes—ensuring attendees remain active and engaged.
- Recovery: Provisions for rest and rejuvenation, featuring downtime opportunities, spa therapies, and tranquil spaces that support relaxation.
This adaptable framework can be utilized across Hilton’s diverse properties, allowing for the infusion of wellness into various meeting formats through existing services and tailored programming that aligns with event objectives and attendee preferences.
Supporting Attendees for Optimal Experiences
As Amanda Al-Masri, vice president of wellness at Hilton, notes, “Wellness is now a vital aspect of how individuals travel and experience life. It’s crucial to extend this philosophy to meetings and events.
